9.2.3.2. TRAFFIC INFO SERVICE
The search for a radio station transmitting traffic information via RDS / TMC is launched automatically. After a
few seconds, a screen appears:
- Name of service MICHELIN
- Active service Depending on the quality of reception, one or more bars appear in green.
- Station Shows the frequency and the name of the station used.
Click on “Next station” if you want the system to continue to scan the FM band to use another station
with a signal of higher quality or click on “Back” to return to the previous screen.
Note:
During initial use of the TMC on your ViaMichelin Navigation portable GPS device, you must allow the system
time to initialise. The system scans the FM band until it finds a station that transmits traffic information. This
search can take a few minutes during initial use; it is then saved for subsequent use.
In the event of loss of traffic information the system automatically performs a new search for a radio signal after
a few minutes.
Depending on the country in which you are driving, access to traffic information can take place via paying
private or public systems. The ViaMichelin Navigation portable GPS X-970T and X-980T devices, when installed,
contain all the codes enabling you to take advantage of traffic information in the countries covered by the
mapping installed on your device.
Traffic information is available in the following countries: Germany, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, Holland,
Italy, Norway, Czech Republic, United Kingdom, Sweden and Switzerland.
